Fast Track Canada Immigration with Employer – based Ontario Provincial Nominee Program – Ontario PNP

Posted on 30 September 2007 by admin

The Ontario Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) allows Ontario to match its labour market needs with the skills of would-be immigrants.

At this stage, the PNP is employer-driven.  That means, as a foreign national interested in immigrating to Canada, you would need have been offered a job offer that has been approved by the provincial nominee program office in Ontario.  But once a qualified foreign worker has been nominated by the province, his application would be fast-tracked by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC).

The Ontario PNP currently has two categories:

1]  Employer Category :

a) helps employers to fill labour shortages in 20 specific occupations in the health, education, manufacturing and construction sectors
b) “International Student stream” of the Employer Category retains qualified students in Ontario by enabling Ontario employers to hire them permanently.

2] Multinational Investor Category
- for companies making significant investments in the province to bring in key employees who will contribute to the long-term success of the investment.
This category  supports new and significant investments in the province that will generate jobs with the start-up or expansion of Ontario-based operations.
